Some increase their potency, some limit their potency, all are designed to make them a bit more reasonable to use.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Good:&lt;br /&gt;1) LTB Unbreakable Gwethdesuans are now subject to being attacked.  If one is targeted,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the gwethdesuan will be rendered inoperable for six hours (one IG day).  This is six real-life hours, including time spent out of game.&lt;br /&gt;2) Targets for gwethsmashing can no longer avoid their fate by hiding or becoming invisible.&lt;br /&gt;3) A small bug in the FOCUS messaging has been fixed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Bad:&lt;br /&gt;1) The target of a successful gwethsmashing will now see who did it.&lt;br /&gt;2) The victim of a successful gwethsmashing will no longer be stunned.  However, the attacker is still subject to a stun if he fails the contest.&lt;br /&gt;3) Gwethsmashers can now only target people who have used THINK within the past five real-life minutes.  This includes time spent out of game.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Indifferent:&lt;br /&gt;1) A small host of technical changes were made. (181 Uthmor 386)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Posted by: DR-ARNIMAS on 3/12/2007 9:59:01 AM&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;B&gt;The Genealogy Office in Crossing&lt;/B&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Greetings everyone,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Phase 1 of the last name system has now been released in the Prime instance of Dragonrealms.  Below is an outline of how the last name system works in DragonRealms.  This system is quite different from the Gemstone system.  The last name system will allow players to&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;add, remove and share their last names. First names are not affected in ANY way by this system and remain unique. For the remainder of this post, the terms 'last name' and 'surname' remain interchangeable. Adopter will reference any person that owns the last name or has the ability to distribute it. Adoptee will be the person receiving the last name (obviously).  To get information from the clerk, simply ASK CLERK FOR HELP.  There is a cost for all services in the genealogy office and the clerk will tell you the price on any that are currently available to you.  The genealogy office in in the Crossing Town Hall.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Phase 1:&lt;br /&gt;Initially, the last name system will only allow characters to Register and Clear their last name. This is to give existing characters with last names a chance to Register themselves as the owner of that last name before others can claim ownership of the name.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Registering a last name:&lt;br /&gt;If a player registers a last name, no one else may Choose that surname. The player that registers the surname first becomes the owner of that name. The only way for someone else to then obtain the surname is if they are adopted.  If you decide not to register your last name, you will not lose it unless you CLEAR the last name.  Registering simply gives you the control over who else can obtain the name.&lt;br /&gt;NOTE: It is possible that two or more people could choose the same surname before anyone registers it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Clearing a last name:&lt;br /&gt;A player can Clear a surname with the clerk.  If they have registered their surname, it also removes their ownership status of the surname.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Phase 2:&lt;br /&gt;After the system has given existing last name owners a chance to Register or Clear their lastnames, the other last name features will be activated.  This may happen in Plat in a matter of days, while in Prime it might be several weeks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Choosing a last name:&lt;br /&gt;A person can Choose a new last name if they don't currently have a last name.  The name is subject to normal name rules and may be rejected by the system.  When a name is chosen, a player cannot Adopt someone for 30 days. This gives GM's time to notice bad last names or receive reports of bad last names before a player chooses a vulgar last name and immediately adopts 12 family members that we then have to track down.  This is the only time limit that exists between options in the last name system.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sharing a last name:&lt;br /&gt;You will also be able to share last names with others if you have registered the last name and become the owner of the last name.  To do this, you will need to fill out a license and present it to the clerk.  To complete a license, you?ll need help from someone that is familiar with legal documents and contracts ? a trader.  A trader of appropriate circle can get 2 types of licenses from the clerk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Management License - Only a last name owner can give management rights. If a license is a management license, the adoptee will have rights to distribute the surname via the adoption license. If the name owner allows management of the surname, he/she may not revoke the names that are given out. However, he/she can remove an individual's management rights via 'Reserve'.&lt;br /&gt;Adoption - If a license is an adoption license, the adopted player will only have the last name. He/she will have no rights to distribute the surname.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone may STUDY the license to see the steps needed but it is as follows: The adopter must sign the contract, then the adoptee signs, the adopter confirms and then the trader signs as a witness. By utilizing this method, the adoptee can see the surname he or she will be accepting. By requiring the adopter sign twice, it allows the adopter to see who has signed on as an adoptee and determine if they wish to sign the license a second time or not. To sign the license, a player needs charcoal or a quill and they must WRITE LICENSE WITH &amp;lt;quill/charcoal&amp;gt;. When the contract is complete, the trader(witness) and adoptee must both be present in the geneaology office when the trader turns the license in to the clerk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since the adopter and adoptee aren't both required to be present when the license is given to the clerk, characters on the same account can share names. This does require login and logouts but it is possible. With the current license setup, it's possible for a trader to travel between towns getting signatures and that the adopter and adoptee not be required to meet during the process.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reserving a last name:&lt;br /&gt;A name owner may NOT remove anyone's last name once it has been given. However, he/she can remove someone's rights to distribute his/her surname.  If a name owner no longer wishes to allow someone to distribute his/her surname, there is an option to do this. The name owner will need to specify the individual he or she wishes to not have name distribution rights. This player is then given &amp;quot;adoptee level&amp;quot; rights to the name. After one week, it will be open for global preview.  During the preview period, you will be able to cast the spell as long as you have the necessary skill to successfully cast it; you will not need to choose it,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;nor will you need the prereqs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*Crusader's* Challenge&lt;br /&gt;As defenders of the realm, courageous paladins are expected to put their lives on the line to protect others. The Crusader's Challenge spell attempts to draw the aggression of hostile creatures to the paladin and away from his allies, and will continue to do so until the spell fades. During this time, the paladin may find his ability to deal with multiple enemies bolstered by his sacrifice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Note:  This spell is in the sacrifice book for a reason.  While you can recast it at minimum prep to reduce the duration, once it is cast you will get at least a couple of pulses of taunting, and in the wrong situation (a room full of invading war mammoths, for example), this could be a Very Bad Thing (tm).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a will vs will contest involved, and the closer the critter is to someone else, the more difficult it will be to taunt them.
